Well, I'll Certainly Be Getting This.

By now, I'm sure you've heard of these guys so there's really no need for a formal introduction. Here, The XX are featured on latest issue of Dazed & Confused magazine, out soon, and I really cannot wait to get my hands on this. It really has been their year. This is one 'hype' I truly believed in and for the sake of good music, I really hope it lasts. I'll be seeing them live again next month, alongside Hot Chip and thought it was interesting to note that both bands are alum's of the same high school. Not sure if that was a catalyst for them choosing to go on tour together but it certainly works for me. Concerts are only half fun when the opening act do nothing for your musical appetite.

While we're on the subject of Hot Chip, they premiered their new video for their song I Feel Better on the net today. When the video started playing and I saw what seemed to be a boy band, despite hearing what I knew to be one of my favourite tracks on their new album, I thought I had clicked the wrong link. Could it be? I thought to myself, that Hot Chip are a really a bunch of hunky lads with abs and not comedic regular guys with synths?

But the "HOT CHIP" neon lettering background as well as the voice I could hear coming over the lip-syncing male quartet reassured me that all was well. That's when I burst out laughing. This is THE funniest music video I have seen in a long time. It really is an exciting year for music video's so far, isn't it? Hot Chip's gone pop in the best way ever.
